Prof. L.A. Abdulrauf

Director, School of Preliminary and Remedial Studies

Director's Address

Welcome from the Director Welcome to the School of Preliminary Studies (SPS), University of Ilorin. The University of Ilorin is where learners are primed to become world leaders — and for many, that journey begins here. Our School is the University's front door: a structured, closely supervised pathway that prepares committed students for degree study and grounds them, from the very first term, in the values that make Unilorin better by far. We deliver a rigorous programme in a calm and conducive learning environment, taught by staff drawn from across the University, in keeping with its mission to provide a world-class environment for learning, research and community service. Integrity, discipline and excellence are not additions to what we teach — they are how we teach. On successful completion, our students proceed directly to approved courses in the Faculties of Agriculture, Arts, Education, Engineering and Technology, Environmental Sciences, Life Sciences, Management Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Social Sciences. We also reward excellence. The thirty best-performing candidates in our final examinations may be considered for admission into any approved programme in the University, including Physiology, Doctor of Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Doctor of Optometry, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing Science, Economics, Accounting, Banking and Finance, and English, with the exception of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) and Law. Come ready to work. We will help you arrive. Prof Lukman Adebisi Abdulrauf Director, School of Preliminary Studies
